how smt2 works

SMT2 is a molecular level tribological element that has an extremely high affinity toward pure iron (Fe2).Basically, SMT2 is negatively polarized with respect to ferrous metal.

Once the bond between SMT2 is achieved, the resulting covalent bond is inert. SMT2 reacts to ferrous metal in much the same way that injections of insulin work in treatment of diabetes. SMT2 affects ferrous metal at the molecular level, forming an electro-chemical covalent bond of loose, pure, ferrous iron (Fe) and SMT2 molecules which form a metal hydride boundary layer on the metal surface that smoothes asperities and flaws. The boundary layers formed by SMT2 have a lamellar molecular structure with “easy shear” characteristics that ensure extremely low levels of boundary friction between the surfaces.


SMT2 is formulated with a “know-how” TPF component that reacts to any combination of Temperature, Pressure, and Friction that takes place between moving surfaces (boundary friction and wear). When the temperature is altered up or down, and/or the pressure or friction is increased, the TPF, the “know-how” component of SMT2, activates a succession of chemical reactions to stearate “metal soaps”.


From the physics of boundary friction it is known, that metal soaps bond covalently to a friction surface forming structured protective “molecular pile” layers from polar groups COOMe to promote (due to methyl units CH2) filiform (nematic) flow of boundary layers similar to those that exist in liquid crystals. These boundary layers, at the expense of methylene groups (CH3), having incredibly high (commensurable with diamond) molecular hardness shield the contact surfaces, thereby minimizing wear and friction. Being an oxygen radical in a chainomatic molecule of hydrocarbons, this component under influencing processes of a triboelectricity and oxidation of metal surfaces activates a particular succession of chemical reactions: through stearic similar joints like CH3-(CH2)13 -COOH to stearates or
so-called ” metal soaps “, having outstanding tribological properties.

"Lyle found SMT2 at Brown & Hurley and suggested to David that he put it in the engine. David said “We’ve tried them all Dad, Lucas, Moreys and Wynns and we never saw any real fuel saving improvement”.Lyle then serviced the truck and put 7% SMT2 in the engine.oil. “The best that we ever had got out of the truck before we put SMT2 in it was after we did the motor up and timed it so it was running sweet. Was 3.6 / 3.7 kms to the litre. And on the trip where we put tha SMT2 in, it went up to 4.6 / 4.7km to the litre. So that was the best we got on that trip from Bundaberg to Darwin return. It dropped back a little on the way home because we didn’t have the weight pushing it. Much to my surprise, by the time I got to Mount Isa out of Bundaberg, I had saved the cost of the product which was $180.00. The total fuel saving on the 6,400km trip was $585 so we made a profit of $400.00 on that.trip. And the power – I just couldn’t believe the power – I was going over hills in top gear which in fact I had never been over without changing down like previously.
